The holidays are here and that means parties, parties, parties! I get questions all the time on ways to style hair at home for that upcoming party. This week’s blog will be a two-part series on all things Holiday Hair! The first with a few tips and ideas and the second will include a couple of videos showing you how to do it at home!
The key to success is to keep it simple! Don’t try to make it perfect and don’t try to fight what it is your hair really wants to do. I suggest getting yourself some hot rollers if you don’t already have some. I tell clients all the time that hot rollers are my personal secret weapon at home. How I style my clients hair in the salon and how I can actually style my own hair at home is completely different. When I want to style my hair quickly and easily with guaranteed results it will look great, I grab the hot rollers! Other supplies to have on hand are: bobby pins, hair tie, styling product (gel, mouse etc), hairspray, accessories (i.e. pretty clips or a head band).
This is one style I will include in my video for section 2 of this blog. Super easy to do, you will see!
Lucky for you the pony tail is one of the hottest trends right now! Add a little tease to the top of your hair, grab an elastic and you are ready to go! Add some great earrings and you are holiday ready!
I love this look for shorter hairstyles and is also super easy. Another big trend right now are braids. One simple french braid to one side of your hair some tease in the rest of your hair and you are ready to go. The key to this hairstyle is some great firm hold hairspray. Paul Mitchell Extra Body firm spray is my favorite!
It doesn’t get any easier than adding some sparkle! A simple hair accessory can easily dress up your hair style and it can be the one thing you add to your do to take your hair from day to night! The wave achieved in this look can be done at home with a triple barrel curling iron. The point of this photo was to show you the hair clip though. That alone is what makes this style!
This gorgeous hair is achievable my friends. This is where you grab those hot rollers! In section 2 of this blog, I will include video of just how to put those rollers in and what to do when you take them out. It really is easy and you will see why. In the meantime, go dig your rollers out of the back of the closet or go buy yourself some. Start practicing. One tip is to not do too much when you take them out. Just tip your head over and give it a shake. If it seems too big and crazy, don’t worry it will relax before you get to the party into the perfect holiday hairstyle!
